Have you ever felt like you were actually living your dreams? Living in the present moment of joy 🌈? Your smile can’t help but consume your whole being 😃. Walking around like a human glow stick, shinning so bright 🌟. Then you pause for a moment and acknowledge that you’re actually living the reality of a dream that you had once hoped for. 🦄

 

Yes! This has happened to me many times 🥰. One of which I was surrounded by many of the most iconic photographers as I was accepted to an internship program at the world’s most prestigious photo agency, Magnum Photos.

 

In 1947, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, George Rodger and David Seymour started the most important artists’ cooperative ever created: The Magnum Photos agency. In school I studied their work, 🤓 read their words and delved deep into the art and craft of photography.

 

Interning at Magnum Photos I had the absolute privilege to meet, speak with and help some of my idols. I delivered prints to Bruce Davidson (himself!) and got to connect with him personally as he sent me off with a signed postcard from his Brooklyn Gangs project (til this day I have it on my desk)!!! Picking up a package with the Phillippe Halsman family connecting with Phillipe’s daughter and leaving with a signed pamphlet of his work! Chatting it up with Paul Fusco, Chien-Chi Chang and Alec Sloth simply filled me with so much joy and inspiration words cannot recount the excitement I felt. 🤩

 

Pulling an iconic print from the archives titled “Muslim women praying in India, 1948” taken by Henri Cartier-Bresson. I remember holding that print in my hands breathing in its magic✨.

 

Then when I thought it couldn’t get any better than this, I was invited to help out at the 60th anniversary celebrations they were having and most of the Magnum photographers attended! There I was able to meet Steve McCurry and  Josef Koudelka –  hearing about the assignment he had just come back from photographing. I was simply beside myself and memorized by their energy and passion for the craft. What excited me was that I too shared in this passion for photography and the love and joy of capturing the human experience. I was living a dream I had said yes to. I believed and it came true!!! 📷 💞

 

I do believe in the importance of remembering our successes. Remembering times when we believed so deeply and then had the opportunity to live out our dreams 💫. I see this often in my life, in my relationships with loved ones, in my photographs and in my business. Deep gratitude for these incredible real life dream experiences. 🙌🏽
