When we feel fabulous it shows and for me it’s all about what I put into my body and how I feed my mind and soul. Looking and feeling fabulous, whether it’s for the day to day or prepping for a photo shoot, when we see someone shining bright, we all want to know what’s in the secret sauce. 🌟

Caught up with my friend Vero last month and she shared a juice cleanse she had just started and how the positive effects were already kicking in. I was so excited to hear about all the changes I made the decision to commit to it for one month and absolutely loved the results!!!

 

Here’s what you do:

On an empty stomach, drink a 16-ounce glass of freshly juiced organic celery once a day for 30 days.

• I use a Hurom Slow Juicer. Decided to go with this juicer after some research and reading about it on one of my favorite juicing guru Kris Carr’s blog, definitely worth checking out.

• One whole stalk and a half of organic celery to make 16 oz. of juice.

 

Below are the results I found:

Gut: First week or two it worked as a cleanse typically does – 💩💩💩  all toxins out of my system. Also I felt some occasional soreness in my gut for the first week. After the initial soreness that my gut felt much more at ease and overall a happy camper. I even tried a few gluten products (while on the cleanse) and my stomach felt like it could handle it.

Body: Trimmed a few inches off my waistline!!! Felt AMAZING as my honey and I headed to the beach. 👙🏄🏻‍♀️

Skin: I noticed my complexion got much clearer. I had a scar on my face from a weirdo pimple pop attempt and that went away 🙌🏽 Also, the skin around my face and neck got tighter AND I noticed an overall youthful look about myself.

 

Be Forewarned:

The first question many people ask me: does it taste good??? Lol!!! 😋

No, it’s celery juice with nothing in it 😜. I’ve never been a fan of celery period but once I began to research it’s benefits then I became a fan. My magic trick is to think about all the healthy benefits as I gulp it down then done for the day. Bottom’s up! 🙃

 

Notes: below is how I chose to eat,  just sharing what works for me. ☺️

I am now 85% gluten free and have been for about 8 years now.

I am also about 80% dairy and meat free (for two years) – I avoid all animal products but occasionally will have fish or eggs. At home I always cook vegan for Alex and I but adding fish/eggs into my diet when I travel, when I’m out with friends or on a dinner meeting makes my life easier.

I don’t drink coffee 😳 haha yup you heard that right! I gave it up in my twenties along with smoking and alcohol. Occasionally I’ll have a glass of wine and maybe once or twice a year a cup of coffee but that’s really it. You might be like 😱 WHAT how do you stay up all day, I get it all the time. This is what works for me. I love the smell of coffee and the taste (I mean I’m Brazilian, I started drinking coffee before I could walk lol!) but I could tell that my body felt better without it. (More about this in next post… stay tuned)

I also try my best to avoid sugar especially processed sugar. I am a chocoholic and love sweets so this has been tricky. Once I start it’s challenging to stop. Sooo I have found other ways to feed my sweet tooth. (More about this in the next post)
