I combine my love of fine art with my eye for storytelling to capture the beauty and wonder of your experience so that you can enjoy and share your soulful story for generations to come.

hi, i'm Judith Rae

I was on a tight deadline to write a compelling ad for a venue and I found that the easiest way to do this was to engage my heart. For years I’ve been digging deep to try and put into words WHY I do what I do. Throughout the years I’ve come up with many versions but this time I feel like I figured out a very special and simple formula to speak from my heart.

First, I needed to tap into my heart.

This formula is ideal for when you’re trying to express yourself directly from your heart or spark love and joy in your life.

I’m big on morning rituals that support spiritual, mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. I also believe in eating healthy (at least 90% of the time haha) and all the while, having a lot of fun! I’ve included my daily AM ritual below.

First, let’s dive into engaging your heart. To do this, I watched videos that made me genuinely happy (I have a lot of them saved to my iphone). Specifically, I’m referring to personal videos of me laughing and having fun with family and friends. Videos of people I’ve met (and recorded) while traveling, people doing what they love and glowing with love and passion for life. Watching videos of genuine connections that have deeply touched my life made me so very happy.

Next, I listened to songs that bring me joy. Always good to have a playlist of songs that spark a deep sense of joy. Typically, they remind me of spending time with someone special (like my boyfriend Alex, my daughter Jess or another family/friend) or they strike a cord within and deeply resonate with me.

These are the tools I used to engage my heart. From this place of deep joy, I then took time to journal and express what I had to say. While I journaled, I kept asking myself the main question, in this case it was “why do I do what I do?”. I wrote out everything that came to me and spent about 10-20 minutes asking the question and answering it. Once I felt I had what I needed I was able to edit my writing to something more concise. Project complete and happy heart engaged!

Essential oils help me stay balanced (I love the young living brand but more specifically I enjoy a mix of (copaiba, lime, cedarwood, ocotea and lavender – their benefits are listed below.) YL makes this specific blend called “Stress Away” and it contains all of the ingredients I listed.

  • Copal (or Copaiba) is extremely high in β-caryophyllene, which has been well documented for its anti-inflammatory actions. It has traditionally been used for muscle aches and pains, stiffness, and nervous exhaustion. It helps to elevate the mood and lift depression, and may amplify the effects of the other essential oils in the blend.
  • Lime has a fresh, lively fragrance that is stimulating and refreshing. It helps one overcome exhaustion, depression, and listlessness.
  • Cedarwood may be calming and may help to eliminate nervous tension.
  • Ocotea may help with emotional balance.
  • Lavender is relaxing and promotes health and a general sense of well-being.
